Country
St Clair comprises a mix of fertile alluvial flats rising to undulating forest country and then onto steep hills that are generally accessible to cattle. A well balanced mixture of 1000 acres of softwood scrub, 2000 acres heavy black soil and 3000 acres of fertile alluvial flats developed to improved pastures of Pangola, Rhodes, Buffel, Bisset Blue grass, Seca Stylos with some ponded areas and a strong body of red stem couch. Approximately 4000 acres has been previously cultivated, with a total area of about 5000 acres of heavier soils being suitable for Leucaena production. The balance of country is undulating forest rising to steeper accessible hills carrying a heavy coverage of natural soft grasses, and is predominantly frost free.

The owners have conservatively run 850 breeders plus replacement heifers through a dry season, or 1000 breeders.

Water
Water is a feature of St Clair having a fully automatic reticulated system, pumping from a bore near the house which is connected to mains power, to an elevated tank which can be monitored by sight from the house for ease of management. This system supplies quality water from shallow depths to tanks and troughs strategically placed in each paddock, through 63m and 50m poly pipe.
This system is backed up by a further two bores plus dams. In addition there are permanent running springs' and water holes in Banyan Creek which runs through most paddocks on St Clair .
There is a second bore equipped with a Davey pressure pump which supplies the house and trucking yards.
A further bore, recently sunk near Banyan Creek (unequipped) has a supply of 4000 gph

Fencing / Yards
St Clair is entirely boundary fenced by mostly 4 barb wires and timber posts. There is a new set of steel cattle yards complete with 5 way race draft and vet crush and water throughout. An older set of timber trucking yards are located at the homestead.

Internally the property is divided into 25 paddocks including holding paddocks. Generally the fencing is a mix of 4 barb wires and timber posts, 4 barb wires and steel posts and some sections of electric fencing.

All paddocks are interconnected by a laneway system that runs through the property from north to south, connecting both yards.

It is divided into 4 bedrooms, office, kitchen, lounge, dining room, entertainment room. There is a coldroom located in the laundry area. The entertainment area also has a wood heater.
